Is parainfluenza virus a threatening virus for human cancer cell lines?
PDF PDF
Recently, alerting information was announced that some cell lines are persistently infected with parainfluenzavirus type 5 (PIV5). Infection of this virus causes STAT1 degradation thereafter inhibition of internal IFN signaling pathways. To evaluate the possibility of PIV5 infection, we checked 123 cancer cell lines we provide.
Figure. Mechanism of STAT1 degradation by PIV5-derived V protein
